Rwanda's CPI is 0.7 pct year on year in February 2018

Rwanda’s Consumer Price Index (CPI), main gauge of inflation has risen 0.7 percent year on year in February 2018 down from 1.3 percent in January 2018.

In February 2018, ‘Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels’ and Transport rose by 2.9 percent, and 2.4 percent respectively.

The data also show the “local goods” decreased by 0.2 percent on annual change and increased by 0.6 percent on a monthly basis, while prices of the “imported products” increased by 4.0 percent on annual basis and increased by 0.3 percent on a monthly basis.


Rwanda posts 3.97 pct annual growth in producer price index

Rwanda’s general producer price index, combining both prices for local and export products registered an annual growth of 3.97 percent in the fourth quarter of 2017 compared with the same period of 2016, while on quarterly basis it increased by 0.10 percent compared with the third quarter.

The main drivers for these changes were manufacturing, mining and quarrying, and electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply activities.


Rwanda's CPI is 1.3 pct year on year in January 2018

Rwanda’s Consumer Price Index (CPI), main gauge of inflation has risen 1.3 percent year on year in January 2018 up from 0.7 percent in December 2017.

In January 2018, ‘Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels’ and Transport rose by 2.2 percent, and 2.7 percent respectively.

The data also show the “local goods” increased by 0.4 percent on annual change and increased by 0.2 percent on a monthly basis, while prices of the “imported products” increased by 4.2 percent on annual basis and increased by 0.2 percent on a monthly basis.

Rwanda’s Consumer Price Index (CPI), main gauge of inflation has risen 0.7 percent year on year in December 2017 down from 2.2 percent in November 2017.

In December 2017, ‘Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels’ and Transport rose by 2.4 percent, and 2.8 percent respectively.

The data also show the “local goods” decreased by 0.3 percent on annual change and decreased by 1.6 percent on a monthly basis, while prices of the “imported products” increased by 4.1 percent on annual basis and increased by 0.1 percent on a monthly basis.


Rwanda's CPI is 2.2 pct year on year in November 2017

Rwanda’s Consumer Price Index (CPI), main gauge of inflation has risen 2.2 percent year on year in November 2017 down from 3.6 percent in October 2017.

In November 2017, ‘Food and non-alcoholic beverages’, ‘Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels’ and Transport rose by 2.2 percent, 2.0 percent and 2.9 percent respectively.


Rwanda posts 9.11 pct annual growth in producer price index

Rwanda’s general producer price index, combining both prices for local and export products registered an annual growth of 9.11 percent in the third quarter of 2017 compared with the same period of 2016, while on quarterly basis it increased by 1.0 percent compared with the second quarter.
