Rwanda Vital Statistics Report 2024

This report is organized within 8 chapters namely: 1) Introduction and background 2) Rwanda’s civil registration system 3) Data quality, timeliness and completeness of registration 4) Birth statistics 5) Death statistics 6) Cause of death statistics 7) Marriage statistics and 8)Summary tables. To assess the reliability of results obtained, a comparative analysis involving data from other sources was performed. Only vital events that occurred in 2024 were considered for analysis in this report.

Rwanda Vital Statistics Report 2019

The Rwanda Vital Statistics Report 2019 report is produced based on data collected in 2019 to showcase the progress made by the country in improving civil registration and vital statistics (CRVS) system and to assess the level of implementation of the CRVS strategic plan elaborated in 2017. It is therefore a useful tool to inform related policies and decisions and guide strategic interventions aimed at boosting implementation of the strategic plan.


Rwanda Civil Registration and Vital Statitics (CRVS) systems

The comprehensive assessment of Rwanda Civil Registration and Vital Statitics (CRVS) is a direct response to the declaration of the Second Conference of African Ministers Responsible for Civil Registration in September 2012. The Conference urged all African countries to undertake in-depth assessment of the state of their national civil registration systems and develop a strategic and action plans for improving CRVS.
