Comprehensive Food Security and Vulnerability Analysis (CFSVA) - 2009

Understanding food and nutrition security and vulnerability has always been challenging. Yet the emergence of relatively new phenomena such as recent high food and fuel prices, the global financial crisis, and climate change, all highlight the need to better understand the lives and livelihoods of vulnerable population so that effective policies and actions can be implemented to save lives and address the root causes of food and nutrition insecurity.

Rwanda Interim Demographic and Health Survey Report (2007-08)

The Government of Rwanda has just completed the 2007-2008 Rwanda Interim Demographic and Health Survey (RIDHS) to obtain a database designed to provide reliable indicators to monitor and assess the implementation of the country’s sector programs and policies, the Poverty Reduction Strategy, Vision 2020 and the commitments it has undertaken at the international level, in particular the Millennium Development Goals.

This report presents the findings of the 2005 Rwanda Demographic and Health Survey (RDHS-III), carried out from February to July 2005 by the Direction de la Statistique (renamed Institut National de la Statistique du Rwanda in September 2005).

Comprehensive food security and vulnerability analysis and nutrition survey (CFSVA - 2006)

This baseline is a joint initiative carried out by the National Institute of Statistics Rwanda (NISR) and the World Food Programme (WFP) with participation from the Ministry of Agriculture (MINAGRI), FEWS NET, MINALOC, MINECOFIN, UNICEF and Medecin Sans Frontières. Many people have been involved in the CFSVA process in Rwanda, which began in late December 2005.

Rwanda Demographic and Health Survey (DHS - 1992)

This report summarizes the findings of the Rwanda Demographic and Health Survey (RDHS-I 1992). The first undertaking of this type, the RDHS-I is a nationally representative survey conducted from June to February 1992 by the National Office of Population.

Rwanda Demographic and Health Survey (DHS - 2000)

This report summarizes the findings of the Rwanda Demographic and Health Survey (RDHS-II 2000). The second undertaking of this type, the RDHS-II is a nationally representative survey conducted from June to November 2000 by the National Office of Population.
 


Demographic and Health Survey (DHS 2005)

A total of 10,644 households were selected in the sample for the third Rwandan Demographic and Health survey (RDHS-III), and 10,307 of these were contacted at the time of the survey. The survey teams were able to interview individuals in 10,272 households, for a response rate of nearly 100 percent.  In the 10,272 households surveyed, 11,539 women between 15 and 49 years of age were considered eligible for individual interviews and 11,321 were successfully interviewed
