Rwanda to conduct the 4th Integrated Household Living Conditions Survey

Rwanda is to conduct the fourth Integrated Household Living Conditions Survey (EICV 4) that is slated to start in May this year.


Rwandan Foreign investments increased over last two years

Rwandan volume of  foreign private investments increased from US $ 590.5 million in 2010 to US $  832.3 million in 2011. 
 

Rwanda GDP went up by 8 percent in real terms in 2012

In the year 2012, GDP at current prices was estimated to be Rwf 4,363 billion, up from Rwf 3,814 billion in the year 2011. The Service sector contributed 45% of the GDP compared to 33% and 16% contributed by Agriculture and Industrial sectors respectively.

Prices of consumer goods, services on slight rise in Feb. 2013 in Rwanda

Prices of Rwandan consumer goods increased 0.20 per cent in February 2013,  according to the monthly publication released by the National Institute of Statistics of Rwanda (NISR).


Large farming plots protected from soil erosion in Rwanda

78 percent of the whole cultivated land in Rwanda is protected against soil erosion, although the irrigation still does not appear to be a widespread practice across the country.


Women make up majority among civil servants in Rwanda's healthcare industry

More than half of civil servants in health centers in Rwanda are women representing 58.6 per cent, according to the latest findings published in an official report on Gender Statistics highlighting the gender equality and development issue.


Access to potable water increased over last five years in Rwanda

The proportion of the Rwandan population with access to improved drinking water sources increased from 77 per cent to 87 per cent between 2005 and 2011.


Food security improves in Rwanda, despite challenges

Most parts of Rwanda are witnessing improved food security, according to the third Comprehensive Food Security and Vulnerability Analysis and Nutrion Survey (CFSVA) that highlights challenges related to population growth, widespread poverty and high levels of chronic malnutrion.


Industrial producer prices down in Rwanda

Prices of industrial products went down 0.01 percent in December 2012 compared to the prevailing prices in November of the same year, according to a latest report published by the Economic Department at the National Institute of Statistics of Rwanda (NISR).


Rwanda's inflation rate increased slightly on food in January 2013

In January 2013 the Consumer Price Index (CPI) which is described to be the  main gauge of inflation in Rwanda,increased by 5.67% compared to 3.88% in the previous month.
